Adhering to updated candidate lists is a priority for SSO and as a company our policy is to renew RoHS and REACH certificates on a yearly basis. Products are submitted to laboratories towards the end of each calendar year, with the most recent certifications from December 2013.
Several common materials used in the electronics industry – gold, tin, tungsten and tantalum – come from a variety of sources, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Refined materials from minerals originating from the DRC have been termed “Conflict Materials” and their trade may be supporting human rights atrocities in the region. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protect Act is designed to cut direct and indirect funding of armed groups in the DRC responsible for these atrocities.
