SOLID STATE OPTRONICS EXPANDS ITS AWARD-WINNING M-SERIES PRODUCT LINE
Building on success of M211, SSO expands product line to include M250, World's fastest high speed ultra-miniature SSR
SAN JOSE, California (March 20, 2001)…Solid State Optronics, Inc. (SSO), an award-winning designer and manufacturer of miniature solid state relays, today introduced the expanded M-Series product line.
Building on the success of the award-winning M211, the first relay to offer over-current protection in an ultra-miniature 4-pin SOP package, SSO is expanding its M-Series of products to include:
- M221: a 1 form A SSR, offering lower on-resistance (17W TYP.) and higher load current rating (120mA) than the M211
- M212: a 1 Form B, (normally closed) SSR.
- M222: a 1 Form B SSR, offering slightly lower on-resistance than M212 (20W TYP.)
- M250: the fastest switching speeds in an 250V ultra-miniature SSR on the market today (50ms turn on, 150ms turn off time)
“We’re very pleased at the breadth of products and solutions we are able to offer engineers and designers. And this is just the beginning. We will continue to develop high value products—with innovative features not offered anywhere else in the industry” said Juan Kadah, Optoelectronics Division Manager at SSO.
The miniature size of these relays makes them ideal for a wide range of applications where saving board space and package volume is critical. The optional current limit function (-L suffix, not available in M250) protects downstream circuitry from transient current spikes and allows for use in a wide range of telecom applications where regulatory requirements demand such protection. Applications that can benefit from the M-Series features include; telecom switching, datacom switching, test and measurement equipment, automated industrial equipment, motor control, and medical electronics.
As with all Solid State Optronics’ products, all M-Series products are designed and engineered under the strictest quality guidelines. All components and finished goods undergo rigorous reliability testing and 100% electrical testing. All SSO products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9000 quality standards.
In addition to the M-Series product line, SSO offers a wide range of MOSFET-based AC/DC relays, SCR-based AC relays and specialty products for numerous telecommunication, instrumentation, and industrial control applications.
Pricing and Availability All M-Series devices are available now for sampling and orders. Unit pricing for 10,000pc volume is as follows:
M212: $0.76 M221: $0.74 M222: $0.85 M250: $0.49
Typical lead-time is 6 weeks from receipt of order. Engineering samples of any of the M-Series products can be obtained by contacting SSO Sales at (888) 377-4776 or by email at sales@ssousa.com
