SOLID STATE OPTRONICS INTRODUCES NEW SP646 RELAY

SAN JOSE, Calif., ... Solid State Optronics, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of optically-isolated solid state relays, today introduced the SP646 as the latest addition to their product line. The SP646 is a highly advanced, optically-coupled solid state relay designed to eliminate false triggering upon the first application of AC voltage.

The SP646 is part of SSO's SCR-output family and is a single-pole, single-throw, normally open (1 Form A) AC output relay. The circuit is composed of a GaAs LED on the input, which is optically coupled to SSO's proprietary IC on the output. This IC controls the firing angle of two rugged, back-to-back SCRs, assuring true zero-volt switching. This circuit works well with either inductive or resistive loads without the need of a snubber network. The SP646 is ideal for interfacing between microprocessors and AC loads, such as small lamps or solenoids in medical and communications equipment.

As with all Solid State Optronics' products, the SP646 is designed and engineered under the strictest quality guidelines.
