SOLID STATE OPTRONICS INTRODUCES NEW RELAY FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS APPLICATIONS
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 31, 1998 /PRNewswire/ -- Solid State Optronics, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of optically-isolated solid state relays, today introduced the TR115 relay as the newest addition to its product line. The TR115 is a dual function circuit, and is designed specifically for use in telecommunications applications.
The TR115 features both a solid state relay and an AC detector in a compact 8-pin package. The relay circuit is an AC switch comprised of an LED optically-coupled to a proprietary dielectrically isolated IC circuit that drives a pair of DMOS transistors. The AC detector consists of a pair of back-to-back LEDs optically-coupled to a bipolar transistor. Together, the two circuits can provide hookswitch and ring detect in a single package, reducing the parts count of many telecom devices.
The TR115 is suitable for a wide variety of telecommunications applications. In addition, the low package hight of the TR115 (.093') makes it ideal for most PCMCIA fax modem card applications, including telecom tip/ring circuits, ring detect, modem switching, hookswitch, dial pulsing, ground start and loop detect.
As with all Solid State Optronics' products, the TR115 is designed and engineered under the strictest quality guidelines. All components and finished goods undergo rigorous reliability testing and 100% electrical testing. All SSO products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9000 quality standards.
Pricing and Availability The TR115 is available in 8 pin DIP, SMD (-S suffix), and flatpack (-F suffix) packages on Tape and Reel (-TR suffix). Unit prices for the TR115 depend on quantity ordered and start at $1.99 each for quantity 10,000. Typical lead-time is 2-4 weeks. Engineering samples of the TR115 can be obtained by contacting SSO Sales at (888) 377-4776.
In addition to the TR115, SSO offers a wide range of MOSFET-based AC/DC relays, SCR-based AC relays, and specialty product for numerous telecommunication, instrumentation, and industrial control applications.
