SOLID STATE OPTRONICS INTRODUCES NEW MULTI-FUNCTION TELECOMMUNICATIONS SWITCHES

SAN JOSE, Calif., January 4, 1999 ... Solid State Optronics, Inc. today introduced the STS100 and the STS700 multi-function switches to its broad range of optically- isolated solid state devices. Both products come in a small, 16-pin SOIC package and are made specifically for telecommunications applications.

The STS100 combines two 1 Form A relays with an opto-coupler in a single, low- height package. ITs small outline and multi-functionality reduces both cost and board space, and makes it ideal for use in PCMCIA applications, such as tip/ring circuites, hookswitch, dial pulsing, and cable modems.

The STS700 combines a 1 Form A solid state relay, phototransistor, darlington transistor, and a full bridge rectifier in a small package. The STS700 is perfect for several applications, including plam top computers, voice mail, fax, data and cable modems, and telephone control systems.

As with all Solid State Optronics' products the STS100 and the STS700 are designed and engineered under the strictest quality guidelines. All components and finished goods undergo rigorous relaiability testing and 100% electrical testing. All SSO products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9000 quality standards.

Pricing and Availability
The STS100 and the STS700 will be shipping Q1 1999. Prices for the STS100 begin at $2.48 each at 10,000 pc. volume. Prices for the STS700 begin at $2.12 each at 10,000 pc. volume. Typical lead-time is four weeks. Engineering samples can be obtained by contacting SSO Sales at (888) 377-4776 or sales@ssousa.com.

In addition to the STS100 and the STS700, SSO offers a wide range of MOSFET-based AC/DC relays, SCR-based AC relays and specialty products for numerous telecommunication, instrumentation, and industrial control applications.
